Ellison later claimed his office was aware of the massive "Feeding Our Future" fraud during this time. But rather than freezing the funds or sounding the alarm, he let the money keep flowing.
In a stunning recording of the meeting, Feeding Our Future representatives promised fundraising assistance to Ellison as a political candidate in exchange for his help.

During the meeting, Ellison offers to “help” Feeding Our Future and discusses calls to state agencies, creating a serious judgment and access problem for the state’s top lawyer. Specifically, Feeding Our Future representatives ask Ellison to intervene with other government agencies looking into their activities. At 44:26, Ellison assures his audience, “Of course, I’m here to help,” and at 45:00, “Let’s go fight these people.”
